Province announces funding for new child care spaces

The Nova Scotia government is putting $2.4 million into creating more than 750 new child care spaces throughout the province.

Thirteen operators will receive a total of $695,000 to expand or open 455 new child care spaces in eight regions across the province, with $1.1 million to help them with annual operating costs.

Fourteen regulated family home child care agencies will receive $372,000 to create and sustain 301 new spaces through the addition of 43 approved family home child care sites, with another $227,000 toward annual operating costs.
