Province announces funding to help communities address flood risks

The province has announced funding to help four communities reduce the risk of floods, which includes the community of West Hants.

Municipal Affairs Minister Zach Churchill says half the project costs will be covered with an investment of about $243,000 through the Flood Risk Infrastructure Investment Program.

He says the municipalities provide the other 50 per cent.

The district of West Hants will receive $26,073 for a flood water impact study for Hantsport.

Other municipalities that will receive funding include Cape Breton Regional Municipality, Kings County, and the district of Lunenburg.
