Province announces Low Carbon Communities Program
The provincial government has announced a program aimed at lowering energy bills and reducing emissions.
Government says it will invest up to $300,000 in three to four projects through the Low Carbon Communities Program.
It's open to municipalities, Mi'kmaw communities, and not-for-profit organizations, and funding can be used for community planning, feasibility studies, public engagement sessions, program promotion, and demonstration projects.
The province says successful applicants will receive up to $75,000, to a maximum of 75 per cent of project costs.
Eligible projects include community solar, district energy, public building efficiency, active transportation, and electric vehicles.
