Province announces trail grants, provincial trail strategy

The Nova Scotia government has announced $972,000 in grants for 29 trail development projects.

Local recipients include $55,000 for the Cumberland Snowmobile Club, $35,000 for the County of Colchester, $30,000 for the Pictou County Trails Association, and $20,000 for the Tatamagouche and Area Trail Association.

Government says the investments made through the Recreational Trail Expansion Grant Program will help promote healthy, active communities.

Leo Glavine also announced Nova Scotia's first trails strategy, which was developed with the Nova Scotia Trails Federation and other partners to support sustainable development.
