Province appoints 3 experts to inclusive education commission

The province has appointed three experts to the Commission on Inclusive Education.

Sarah Shea has been co-appointed by the Nova Scotia Teachers Union and the province as the independent member of the committee.

Monica Williams was appointed by the province while Adela Njie was appointed by the Nova Scotia Teachers Union.

The committee will examine the existing model of inclusion of students with special needs and make recommendations on inclusive education in the province.

Front-line teachers, parents, students and associations will be engaged as part of the process.

The commission will issue an interim report by June 30, with a final report within a year.
