Province encourages Nova Scotians to enjoy sportfishing season
The province says sportfishing is now open and they are encouraging Nova Scotians to take part.
Sportfishing in Nova Scotia, the province says, has a significant impact on rural communities and that it generates more than $58 million annually.
Last season, general and salmon fishing licence sales totaled over 69,000, up 16 per cent from 2015.
Most of this increase came from general licence sales.
All anglers age 16 or older must purchase a general fishing licence.
