Province says changes to Occupational Health and Safety Act will take effect in June

The province announced on Wednesday that changes to the Occupational Health and Safety Act will take effect on June 12th.

Labour and Advanced Education Minister Kelly Regan says the amendments, which were passed in April 2016, better define when, how, and what injuries and incidents must be reported.

She says they also give the government additional tools and authority to enforce safety requirements for those who put people at risk of serious injury or death by repeatedly disregarding safety regulations.
