Province says no reportable disease found in dead fish at Shelburne Harbour aquaculture site

The provincial government says they're continuing to monitor an aquaculture site in Shelburne Harbour, which reported damage last month.

Since a major storm three weeks ago, there's been a higher than expected mortality rate at the site.

Government says dead fish from the site will not enter the human food chain.

Staff from the Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture took samples of the dead fish and say no reportable disease was found.

Fisheries and Aquaculture Minister Keith Colwell says public updates will be released as the situation warrants.
