Province says research underway to look at barriers to employment faced by older adults
The province says research is underway to better understand the barriers older adults experience when they are looking for work.
The Nova Scotia Centre on Aging at Mount Saint Vincent University is doing the research for the government, which will include a literature review aimed at understanding the issues and research about the barriers.
This phase will then be followed by interviews with employers, older adults, and other stakeholders.
Leo Glavine, Minister of Seniors, says the province wants to create working environments that are welcoming, inclusive, and supportive of all ages, including older adults.
