Province says talks scheduled with NSTU

(CP) - The Nova Scotia Teachers Union and the provincial government are slated to return to the bargaining table next week.

Education Minister Karen Casey says conciliation talks are scheduled for next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, adding it's hoped an agreement can be reached.

The province's teachers have been in a work-to-rule situation since early December.

That means teachers aren't performing any extra duties outside the tasks outlined in their contract, meaning things like extra-curricular activities, sports coaching and helping students apply to universities aren't being done.
