Provincial burning restrictions to come into effect on Thursday

The province is reminding Nova Scotians that burning restrictions will come into effect on Thursday, which is the official start of the wildfire risk season.

Margaret Miller, the Minister of Natural Resources, says while the province has seen less snow than past years, a wet and cold winter makes it hard to predict the season ahead.

Government says people should check the provincial BurnSafe Website daily to see where domestic burning of brush and campfires are permitted or restricted.

The burning restrictions will remain in effect until October 15th.
