Provincial volunteer award ceremony held in Halifax
Exceptional volunteers from across Nova Scotia have been honoured at the 44th annual Provincial Volunteer Award Ceremony.
More than 75 people, nominated by municipalities and First Nations Bands, were celebrated in Halifax on Monday.
Fifteen-year old Nina Davey of Pictou was the recipient of the 2018 Youth Volunteer award.
She formed Jeana's Girls, a group of young women from Pictou County who have come together to support and fundraise for the Pictou County Chapter of the Children's Wish Foundation and the Canadian Cancer Society in honour and in memory of her friend.
