Rath Professorship in Entrepreneurship established at Acadia
Acadia University has created a new endowed professorship in the F.C. Manning School of Business through a gift from Truro businessman and philanthropist Stu Rath.
Acting Vice-President Academic, Dr. Heather Hemming, says the endowment will allow an outstanding professor to be recognized, and provide annual funds to support innovative research.
Students will see a benefit through the sharing of knowledge from expert faculty, research opportunities, and support for direct engagement with the business community.
Rath says he felt the time was right to show his appreciation to the university, believing in what Acadia offers its students as a number of family members are graduates.
Ray Ivany, President and Vice-Chancellor of Acadia, calls Rath one of Nova Scotia’s most successful entrepreneurs and spoke to his "incredible legacy of giving back to his community."
Ivany says they're deeply grateful for the gift, and are honoured to have his name attached to Acadia through the Rath Professorship in Entrepreneurship.
