RCMP Bible Hill detachment offering book of condolences for Constable Francis Deschenes

Some RCMP detachments in Nova Scotia are offering a book for people to express their condolences to the family of Constable Francis Deschenes.

Staff Sergeant Allan Carroll says a book of condolences is currently set up in the front lobby of the Bible Hill detachment for the public to sign.

Another book is also available for signing at the RCMP detachment in Amherst.

Deschenes was killed on Tuesday while on duty with Northwest Traffic Services-Amherst, after stopping to help two people in an SUV change a tire on the Trans Canada Highway.

He was a 12-year veteran of the RCMP who was first posted to the detachments in Stewiacke and Bible Hill before joining the Musical Ride.

Condolence books have also been set up at RCMP New Brunswick Headquarters in Fredericton, Codiac Regional RCMP in Moncton and detachments in Bathurst, Oromocto, and Sackville.
