RCMP hold Move Over Event on Wednesday in memory of Cst. Frank Deschênes
Mounties in Nova Scotia are holding an event Wednesday to mark one year since a fellow RCMP officer died in the line of duty.
Constable Frank Deschênes was killed last September 12th when he stopped to help some motorists change a tire on the side of a highway in Memramcook, New Brunswick.
The driver later pleaded guilty to driving without care and attention, and was fined, given probation and banned from driving in New Brunswick for two years.
Nova Scotia RCMP officers are set to hold information checkpoints across the province, passing out information to motorists about the Move Over law.
