RCMP investigate convenience store robbery in Middleton

RCMP are investigating a convenience store robbery on Main Street in Middleton.

Police say a man, who carried a screwdriver in his left hand, entered the store and demanded the cash drawer around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday night.

The employee handed the money to the man, who took it and ran from the store.

A customer was at the back of the store, but neither he nor the employee were hurt.

RCMP say extensive patrols of the area were conducted and a police dog was requested to attend the scene, but the suspect was not found.

The suspect is described as a white man in his late thirties, medium height, heavy build, with dark hair and a receding hairline.

Police say he was wearing a black 'puffy' jacket, sweat pants with stripes down the legs, and the lower part of his face was covered with a white bandana.
