RCMP remind motorists to be cautious of wildlife after vehicle hits bear on Highway 118

RCMP are reminding motorists of an increase in wildlife on roads at this time of year following a crash involving a bear on Highway 118 in Fall River.

A motorist struck a bear, which caused extensive damage to their vehicle, around 11 p.m. on Wednesday.

Police say the driver was not injured and the bear was not found anywhere near the scene.

Mounties say motorists should keep an eye out for wildlife, especially when driving at night.
