RCMP say Springhill man charged with several drug offences

RCMP say a Springhill man has been charged with drug offences following a traffic stop.

The Cumberland County Integrated Street Crime Unit, with help from Cumberland District RCMP, arrested the man in Springhill on Thursday.

Police say the arrest followed the traffic stop where the man and his vehicle were searched and oxycodone pills, a large knife, a cell phone, and cash were located.

A home in Amherst was searched later that day and police seized MDMA (ecstasy), methamphetamine, clonazepam, diazepam, and other items indicative of drug trafficking.

Mounties say 47-year-old Douglas Anthony Montrose has been charged with several offences, including possession of oxycodone for the purpose of trafficking, possession of MDMA for the purpose of trafficking, possession of clonazepam for the purpose of trafficking, possession of methamphetamine, and three counts of failing to comply with an undertaking.
