RCMP seize 'significant amount' of drugs during Lunenburg County traffic stop

Two people have been arrested and charged after a targeted traffic stop in Cookville on Wednesday.

The vehicle was stopped in a business parking lot off Highway 10 around 5:15 p.m., and police seized a "significant amount" of crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia, and cash.

Timothy Charles MacKenzie, 28, and Alisha Dawn Hynick, 25, both of Hammonds Plains, face one count each of possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine.

MacKenzie was remanded into custody pending a bail hearing, while Hynick is due in court on Oct. 11.
