RCMP warn public of possible fraud scam

RCMP are warning the public of a possible fraud scam after they say a vehicle was involved in several suspicious incidents in Nova Scotia.

Police say the occupants of a white 2018 Ford Explorer with the Quebec license plate FNA7026 stop people in their vehicles and ask for money for fuel.

The woman and two men also tell people they have jewelry for sale at what Mounties say is believed to be inflated prices.

No criminal offences have been reported, but police are reminding residents they should never share personal information with an unknown source as with any fraud scam.

RCMP say taking time to verify the authenticity of the goods or services that are being purchased also makes for a better investment.

Anyone who may have been a victim to this fraud is asked to report it to police or the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.
