RCMP warning of suspicious phone calls starting with 911
Police are warning the public of suspicious phone calls coming from numbers beginning with 911.
In a press release, the RCMP say callers with these numbers have asked for credit card or personal information, and when those targeted have tried to call the number back, they have been connected to emergency services because of the first three digits of the number.
Police are asking residents to not call these numbers back, as doing so will result in a call to the emergency services.
The public are also reminded not to give out credit card information, or any other personal information to anyone they do not know.
RCMP say their investigation is ongoing.
