Rescue launched after woman and dogs trapped by tide on Hants County beach
The Noel and District Fire Department says everyone -- human and canine -- are safe and sound after a woman and her three dogs were trapped by the rising tide near Burntcoat Head in Hants County.
The four became stranded on the beach yesterday afternoon, around 2 p.m., and firefighters, RCMP and a military search and rescue helicopter responded.
By 3:30 p.m., the woman and her dogs had been safely rescued.
In a post on its Facebook page, the Noel department issued a reminder about the dangers of the tide and how easy it is for it come in behind you without you noticing.
Burntcoat Head is the site of the highest recorded tides in the world.
