Serious collision in Cape Breton leads to numerous charges
A 48-year-old man is facing a number of charges after a two-vehicle collision involving a van and a small car on Meat Cove Road in Capstick.
Police say the collision left three people from the car with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
RCMP responded to the scene around 8:30 p.m. on August 28th and say the driver of the van initially fled the scene, but Simon Bonnar was located and arrested.
Police say Bonnar intentionally struck the car with his van, forcing it off the road.
Bonnar is remanded into custody until a court appearance in Port Hawkesbury on Wednesday to face three counts of mischief causing danger to life, and one count each of assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, aggravated assault, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, failure to remain at the scene of an accident, and a number of charges under the Motor Vehicle Act.
