Sexual Violence Prevention Innovation Grants Open

Nova Scotians can apply for Sexual Violence Prevention Innovation Grants starting today.

The grants are aimed at community groups and organizations who are looking to build safer and more resilient communities.

Community Services Minister Kelly Regan says, "the grants can help groups create initiatives that reach youth in culturally specific ways, raise awareness, and promote a better understanding of consent."

A student organization at Sackville High School recieved a grant last year to train a group of students to become peer educators who promote sexual violence prevention in their school and greater community.

This is the fourth round of grant applications, and they will be accepted until Friday December 14 at 5:00pm.

Grants can vary in value up to $5,000. Application packages can be found online.
