Single vehicle collision in Port Mouton claims man's life


RCMP say a man is dead after a single vehicle crash in Port Mouton Friday morning.

Officers responded around 4:55 a.m. to a single vehicle collision on Highway 103 and when they arrived, police say they found an injured man in the passenger seat of the vehicle.

RCMP say a deceased man who had been ejected from the vehicle was on the ground near the car.

Police say the passenger was treated by EHS at the scene before being transported to hospital with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle, a 31-year-old man from Beaver River, Digby County, died at the scene.

RCMP say the cause of the collision is under investigation, with the preliminary investigation determining the vehicle left the roadway, struck some trees and came to a stop in the ditch.
