Soil Your Undies for science at the Dal AC

The Dalhousie Agricultural Campus is teaming up with Stanfield's Ltd. to invite the public to Soil Your Undies this week.

The unique event will be held at the Horseshoe Crescent at 11 a.m. on Thursday in celebration of National Soil Conservation Week.

A limited number of Stanfield's cotton briefs will be distributed along with shovels and marker flags, and then buried in the bed of the Horseshoe.

The underwear will be dug up at Dal AC’s annual Community Day on July 19th.

If the underwear decomposes completely, the soil has good biological activity, which means healthy soil.

If the undies are still intact, the soil is lacking in biological life, usually from overuse.
