South Shore Mountie being investigated for domestic assault

RCMP patch

The province's Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT) is investigating a domestic assault allegation against a member of the RCMP Southwest Nova District.

The Liverpool detachment was contacted by the Mountie's spouse on Wednesday, and RCMP referred the incident to SiRT as per the Police Act.

A news release states no charges have been laid to this point.

SiRT says they've released the member on conditions to attend Bridgewater Provincial Court on September 18th.

A public report summarizing the results of the investigation is due within three months after it's been completed.
