CC Riders Soccer Summer Registration
The CC Risders Soccer Club will be accepting registrants for the 2017 summer soccer program until April 13th. Additional information is available online at riderssoccer.ca. Online registration requires a PayPal account or credit card. The two walk-in registration dates are Thursday, March 30th and Thursday, April 13th, both from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Douglas Street Recreation Centre. Only cash or cheque will be accepted at the walk-in sessions.
Truro & Area Ball Hockey - Men's 4 on 4 League
The league runs from April 20th to July 13th, with games of one-hour in length scheduled for Thursdays at 7, 8, and 9 pm. The league will consist of 4-6 teams, with games running over a ten week period, followed by a three week playoff schedule. The cost to register a team is $900, with a deadline of May 31st, and mandatory gear are gloves and a helmet. Bible Hill Truro Minor Baseball Association
The BHTMBA will be holding registration on the following dates, and is open to all boys and girls from Colchester County, from ages 4 to 18;

The Truro Centurion age group swimmers took part in two different swim meets this past weekend. Swimmers who qualified for and selected to take part in the NB Long Course Swimming championships travelled to Saint John for a meet at the Canada Games Pool. The other age group swimmers took part in a development meet at Centennial pool.
In Halifax the development meet had timed finals and broke swimmers into age 13 and under and age 14 and over groupings. In the 14 and over category Benjamin Mingo finished first in the 100m back and 200m back. Mingo finished second in the 50 back, third in the 50m breast, fifth in the 50m free, and sixth in the 50m fly. Zander Smith finished second in the 100m free, fifth in the 100m back, seventh in the 50m breast, and seventh in the 100m breast. Ben Bonnell finished fourth in the 50m back, seventh in the 50m fly, and 8th in the 200m free.
In Saint John Madison Bond won five individual hold medals and one silver in the ladies 12 and under age category. Bond won gold in the 50m breast, 100m breast, 200m breast, 100m free, and 200m IM. She won silver the 200m fly. Julianne Dowe won bronze medals in the 50m breast and 200m breast. She finished fourth in the 50m back, seventh in the 50m free, and eighth in the 100m back. Jenna Gallant finished eighth in the 200m fly.
In the ladies age 13 and 14 category Amy Barnhill won silver in the 200m fly and finished eighth in the 100m fly.
In the ladies 15 and over category Katie Archibald won silver in the 50m breast. Archibald finished fourth in the 100m breast and fifth in the 200m breast. Olivya Reyes finished fifth in the B final of the 200m back.
The Centurions won a silver medal in the ladies 12 and under 800m free style. Members of the team were Grace Bani, Jenna Gallant, Julianne Dowe, and Madison Bond.
On the men's side Matthew Hunter won three gold medals and two bronze medals in the pat division. Hunter won gold in the 200m free, 400m free, and 100m fly. Hunter won bronze in the 50m free and 200m IM.
In the men's 13 and 14 year old category Brett Hutt-Semple won gold in the 400m IM and bronze in the 200m fly. Hutt-Semple finished fourth in the 400m free and 7th in the 200m free.
In the men's 15 and over category Dean Sangster finished fifth in the 200m back. Sangster also finished first in the B finals of the 50m free, 100m back, and and 50m back. Sangster finished finished fourth in the B final of the 200m IM.
