Springhill man charged with stunting, fleeing from police in Amherst

A 36-year-old man from Springhill is facing a slew of charges, including stunting, after police say a vehicle was clocked at 180 km/h in Amherst.

Police say the vehicle was caught speeding around 3 p.m. today on Highway 104 near Exit 5, and the driver attempted to evade RCMP in the thick fog.

The vehicle was located after the man lost control and struck a guardrail at the exit.

He fled on foot, but was arrested a short time later and the vehicle was seized.

The man is charged with stunting, flight from police, driving without insurance, driving while licence is revoked, and failing to drive a motor vehicle in a careful and prudent manner.
