Stellarton welcomes new Chief of Police

The Town of Stellarton will soon have a new police chief.

The town posted on its Facebook page that Mark Hobeck will join the force as Chief of Police on September 30.

Hobeck is a former member of the Halifax Regional Police, with 31 years of service and, more recently, has worked at the Nova Scotia Department of Justice as a Policing Consultant.

Stellarton has been sharing Police Chief Don Hussher with the town of Westville, but when Hussher announced plans to retire, Stellarton decided to hire its own police chief.
