Stunting, speeding charges laid over the long weekend in Colchester County

Police across the region were kept busy over the long weekend with traffic enforcement, and a number of drivers were charged with speeding or stunting.

Colchester District RCMP say a 22-year-old Moncton man faces a charge of stunting after being clocked at 173 km/h on Saturday in the Lornevale area.

His license was suspended for 7 days and his vehicle was seized.

Shortly afterwards, a 19-year-old man from Ford Bank, New Brunswick was stopped for travelling more than 31 km/h over the posted speed limit and faces a charge of speeding.

His licence was also suspended for seven days, and he will receive four demerit points.
