Teens arrested after robbery at Lower Sackville liquor store

Two teens are facing charges after a robbery at an NSLC store in Lower Sackville.

The RCMP say they responded to a robbery in progress at the Downsview Mall location around 6 p.m. Thursday, arriving within a minute of the call.

The Mounties say a teen had walked into the store, wearing a mask, and tried to steal alcohol before getting into an altercation with a store employee and a customer.

Police say the teen mentioned having a gun, but they didn't find one on him when he was arrested.

Three teens were arrested, one inside the store and two outside, but one has been released without charges.

A 16-year-old from Lower Sackville has been charged with robbery, wearing a mask while committing an indictable offence and assault with a weapon.

A 13-year-old from Lower Sackville is being charged with robbery, assault with a weapon and uttering threats.

Both of the accused are due in Halifax Youth Court Friday morning.
