Temporary emergency room closures in Colchester and Cumberland County: May 5 to May 11.

The province says The Emergency Department at the North Cumberland Collaborative Emergency Centre in Pugwsh will be OPEN today, Saturday May 11, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.


The Nova Scotia Health Authority has announced another round of temporary daytime closures for four emergency rooms in Colchester and Cumberland County for this week.

The province says the emergency room at the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital in Tatamagouche will be closed on Sunday May 5 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The Emergency Department at the North Cumberland Collaborative Emergency Centre in Pugwsh will be shut down Sunday May 5, as well as daily Tuesday May 7 to Saturday May 11 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The government says the ER at the South Cumberland Collaborative Emergency Centre in Parrsboro will be closed on Sunday May 5 and Monday May 6 from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The Emergency Department at the All Saints Springhill Collaborative Emergency Centre will be shut down Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

According to the province, these temporary daytime closures are due to a lack of available physician coverage, but all four emergency rooms will be available in the overnight hours from 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., with coverage provided by the registered nurse/overnight physician team.
