Terry Hunt Legacy Fund announced in support of local curling

The Pinty's Grand Slam of Curling returns to Truro next month, and the local host committee has announced the Terry Hunt Legacy Fund to support curling in Colchester County.

Hunt, a Truro resident who passed away in late 2015, was a well-known and tireless supporter of recreation in the region and actually chaired the host committee when the curling event first came to the Rath Eastlink Community Centre (RECC) that year.

The fund will see some of the profits from such things as ticket sales, sponsorships, 50-50 draws, and program sales invested in the development and enhancement of curling in the county.

Craig Burgess, co-chairman of this year's host committee, says, "Money will be placed in this fund to support curling-related initiatives, both capital and program related, in the local area."

He adds, "We see this as a small way to thank the many dedicated volunteers from the curling community who work so hard to bring a successful event like the Grand Slam to Truro."
