Tourism numbers continue to climb in N.S. according to new statistics
Tourism numbers continue to climb in the province according to statistics released Wednesday by Tourism Nova Scotia.
A news release from the province says when compared to July 2016 the number of visitors in Nova Scotia in July 2017 was up by nine per cent, or an additional 32,000 visitors.
Of the 32,000 visitors, 23,000 arrived by air, an increase of 27 per cent.
Tourism Nova Scotia CEO Michele Saran says visitors who arrive by air are higher spenders and are essential to achieving economic growth in Nova Scotia's tourism industry.
The province says the early estimate of tourism revenues through 2017 is $1.4 billion, compared with $1.3 billion in 2016.
