Trudeau names Nova Scotia appointment for Senate
A long-time champion for women's leadership, gender equality and Indigenous rights has been appointed to represent Nova Scotia in the Senate.
Mary Coyle's career has spanned the post-secondary education and non-profit sectors, with a focus on international and local development.
She also helped establish the First Peoples Fund to provide micro-loans to First Nations and Metis communities in Canada.
Since 2014, Coyle has been executive director of the Frank McKenna Centre for Leadership at St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish.
