Truro Centurion Swim Team prepare for Nova Scotia Juniors Swim Meet

Truro Centurion Swim Team send 5 swimmers to the Nova Scotia Juniors Spring Edition Swim meet in Antigonish June 8-10, 2018. To compete in this event, swimmers must have achieved their Junior Provincial Qualifying times for their age group. Swimmers compete according to their age in the 12 and under category, 13-14 category and 15 and over category. Over 150 swimmers from across the province participated in this three day event.

All swimmers from TCSC had personal best swims in multiple events. The 12 and under relay team consisting of Katrina Altenkirk, Paige Burry, Mariana Castro, and Julia Hutt-Semple finished in fourth place for the 400 meter free relay. Katrina Altenkirk shone in the 12 and under category with first place finishes in the 200 meter free, and the 800 meter free. She had a fourth place finish in the 400 meter IM, a seventh place finish in the 50 meter free and a sixth place finish in the 200 meter IM. Julia Hutt-Semple competed in the 12 and under category and was first in the 200 meter fly, third in the 400 meter IM, ninth in the 200 meter IM and ninth in the 400 meter free. Mariana Castro was seventh in the 12 and under 50 meter fly.
