Truro council approves 2018-19 water budget
Truro Town Council has approved the water budget for 2018-19.
CAO Mike Dolter says the projected operating revenue is $4.3 million, with expenditures of just over $4 million, leaving an operating surplus of $257,000.
The town has also budgeted $1.8 million for three major projects this fiscal year.
Replacement of the Robie Street water main is pegged at $1.2 million, with $100,000 needed to repair a leak that occurred over the winter in the Bible Hill water main.
Dolter also says $496,000 is budgeted for the water meter project.
Water rates themselves will not change in 2018-19, but the town is looking to review the rates for the first time in five years.
