Truro Heights man charged with fleeing police in Dartmouth

A 19-year-old Truro Heights man has been charged after fleeing from police in Dartmouth.

Halifax Regional Police say an officer attempted to stop a car for a motor vehicle infraction around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Police say the driver backed up when the officer turned on his lights and siren, nearly hitting the police vehicle.

A release says the driver left the scene in a reckless manner and at a high speed, at which point police stopped their pursuit.

Sean Earle Durnnian and his vehicle were located Wednesday, and he was arrested.

Durnnian faces charges of assaulting a police officer, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, and flight from police.
