Truro hosting FCC Young Farmer Summit
A two-day summit aimed at attracting and engaging the next generation of farmers begins Friday at the Best Western Glengarry in Truro.
Ignite, the Farm Credit Canada (FCC) Young Farmer Summit, also targets food manufacturers and retailers and is one of five such free events being held across Canada.
Producers and agriculture professionals under age 40, as well as college and university agriculture program students and alumni, are invited to hear from speakers about agriculture.
The first session begins at 2 p.m. Friday, while the second session starts at 1 p.m. Saturday.
Speakers include Dr. David Gray, Dean of Dalhousie University's Faculty of Agriculture, Tom Deans, New York Times best-selling author, and Graham Sherman, co-owner of Tool Shed Brewing Company.
