Truro man charged with armed robbery from June incident on East Prince Street

A 31-year-old Truro man has been charged with armed robbery following an incident at a convenience store on East Prince Street late last month.

Colchester District RCMP received a report of a panic alarm just before 1 p.m. on June 26th.

They say a man, whose face was painted black, entered the store wearing a hoodie, sunglasses, and blue pants.

RCMP say he told the employees, two women, to hand him money from the cash register, said he had pepper spray, and then sprayed a burst into the air.

The man was given cash and he then fled east on East Prince Street, turned onto Birch Street, and then left the area in a vehicle.

Police say there were no customers in the store and the employees weren't hurt.

Martin 'Cory' Brown was arrested Thursday and is due to appear in Truro Provincial Court Friday.
