Truro planner receives FCM Volunteer Award for work in Caribbean
Truro's Director of Planning and Development Services has received the 2017 Volunteer award by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities.
Jason Fox provided technical help on urban planning issues in three missions as part of the Caribbean Local Economic Development (CARILED) program to improve zoning and land usage practices.
Among his work, Fox drafted revitalization plans for San Pedro and Belmopan, Belize, and worked with planners in Portmore, Jamaica to streamline their development approval process.
He also designed physical and aesthetic improvements to downtown streets public spaces, and recommended changes to regulations to make it easier for small businesses and local entrepreneurs.
