Truro Police Service ticketing kids for good behaviour

The Truro Police Service has kicked off its positive ticketing campaign for the summer.

The program rewards safe and positive behaviour in young people who are being physically active while following the rules of the road.

Two constables have started daily foot and bike patrols in the downtown area, skate park and Victoria Park, and if, for example, they see young people on bikes, wearing a helmet, they can issue a positive ticket to them.

The Truro Police Service has partnered with the Town of Truro's Parks, Recreation and Culture department and the RECC for the campaign, so any young person who receives a ticket will receive a free family swim at the Victoria Park pool or a free day pass for the RECC.
