Truro's First United Church plans celebration after first place win in national competition

Truro's First United Church will hold an event next week to celebrate and thank the community for its first place win in the National Trust for Canada crowd funding competition.

A news release from the church says National Trust is sending a representative to present a prize winning 'This Place Matters' banner.

The church's 'Windows into the Future' project received the highest number of total votes in the competition, raised just over $104,000 through donations, and won the first place national prize of $60,000.

The celebration will take place at 5:30 p.m. at Civic Square on August 18th.
