Truro's Skate Day in Canada event moved to Colchester Legion Stadium

Warmer temperatures over the past week will stop Truro's outdoor rink from being ready to mark Skate Day in Canada this weekend.

The free event, part of Canada 150, will be held in communities from coast to coast.

Truro's Parks, Recreation and Culture staff have been hard at work installing the outdoor skating surface in Civic Square since last Tuesday morning.

The town has announced the Skate Day in Canada event on Sunday will be moved to Colchester Legion Stadium from 7:30 p.m. to 8:45 p.m., with free hot chocolate.

Skates can be borrowed throughout the season though the Parks, Recreation and Culture Department by visiting their location at the former Douglas Street School from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.
