Two men charged following Cape Breton home invasion

Two men from Eskasoni face charges including robbery, assault with a weapon, and firearms offences following a home invasion in Cape Breton.

RCMP say the suspects entered a home on Highway 320 in D'Escousse, on Isle Madame, early Sunday morning and the homeowner was struck with a firearm.

Police say two shots were also fired inside the home before the suspects fled in a vehicle that was later found in a nearby ditch.

The men, ages 20 and 23, were tracked on foot by an RCMP Police Dog and held in custody overnight, pending a court appearance

Three other people in the home were unharmed, and the victim has since been treated and released from hospital.

RCMP say the victim and the suspects are known to each other.
