**Updated** Burgess cousins, Team Canada win gold in Scotland

It was an early morning of excitement for local curling fans on Saturday as the Team Canada women's team won gold at the World Junior Curling Championships in Aberdeen, Scotland.

Team Canada beat Sweden 7-4 to take home the prize. 

Cousins Karlee Burgess of Hilden and Lindsey Burgess of Truro, played second and lead respectively, along with skip Kaitlyn Jones and third Kristin Clarke, who beat China 9-7 in Friday's semifinals.

The men's team from Langley, B.C., also took home gold after scoring a 6-5 victory over Scotland, which marks the seventh time in the history of the World Junior Curling Championships that Canadian teams are bringing home both gold medals.

The 2019 World Junior Curling Championships are set to take place on February 17th-24th in Liverpool, N.S.
