**Updated** Fatal crash on Highway 103

A highway on Nova Scotia's south shore was re-opened several hours following a head-on collision that claimed the lives of two people.

The crash between an SUV and a delivery truck occurred around 9 a.m. Thursday on Highway 103 east of Hubbards.

RCMP say a 64-year-old woman and a 63-year-old man who were in the SUV were pronounced dead at the scene, while the 32-year-old driver of the truck was taken to hospital with undetermined injuries.

Police issued a release saying the highway had re-opened around 7:30 p.m.
