A powerful earthquake that struck the Iraq-Iran border region has killed about 350 people in both countries.

Iran's state-run news agency raised the death toll today on its side of the border to 341, with nearly six-thousand people injured.

Earlier, Iraq's Interior Ministry said seven people were killed there and 535 injured in Sunday night's magnitude-7.3 temblor.

The quake was felt as far west as the Mediterranean coast and has produced more than 100 aftershocks.
