A 22-year-old man is due back in provincial court in September for election and plea to a number of charges from three incidents, including one that led police to block access to Lavinia Drive in Truro last week.

Truro Police arrested Colby Daniel Scott Smith on Thursday after calling in the provincial Emergency Response Team to an apartment building.

Smith faces six weapons-related offences, one count each of mischief and possession of property obtained by crime during the commission of an offence, and two counts of breach of an undertaking.

Information before the court also states he is charged in connection with taking a vehicle without consent on Wednesday, and also faces one count of assault stemming from an incident between November 16th and 19th of last year in Brookfield.

Smith was scheduled to appear in court on August 7th to set a trial date on the assault matter, but everything was moved to September 4th.

While making a brief court appearance in Truro this morning, Smith was also released on a recognizance with a surety that encompasses all charges he now faces.
